THE EDUCATIONAL MUSEUM OF ARAGÓN

Situated in López Allue Square, the museum is in the same building as the Huesca Tourism Office. On display there are old books, toys, world maps, notebooks, blackboards and in general all kinds of old teaching material from schools in the province of Huesca. It also has recreational classrooms with audiovisual productions that show how past generations used to study.

Located in the facilities of Walqa Technology Park, it is the ideal place to learn astronomy with state of the art technology. Inside there is a four dimension simulator, a space observatory with classrooms and workshops and room for exhibitions.

LACUNIACHA

This is a natural wildlife park in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, in the region of Alto Gállego, in Piedrafita de Jaca. It is home to 13 species of animals and abundant indigenous flora, making it a lively space in a special setting. As they wander round, visitors can discover the infinite secrets that nature holds.

THE LAS GUIXAS CAVE

This cave, in the municipality of Villanúa, below the massif of Collarada, has been given this name because, according to legend, it was a shelter for witches and covens. It is a magical place where visitors can enter the cave and enjoy the magnificent rocky formations, stalactites, stalagmites and natural columns that stretch from floor to ceiling.

GABARDA ADVENTURE

This adventure centre located near the sub-desert steppes of Monrepos covers an area of 75 hectares, and offers a variety of nature-related activities inside its grounds. Just some examples of these activities are a zip-line, paintball, archery, and a corn maze.

JACA ICE PAVILION

At the foot of Peña Oroel, the beautiful city of Jaca plays an important role as a stopping place on the Camino de Santiago, the pilgrims’ trail to Santiago The Jaca Ice Pavilion, a unique facility in Spain, has two ice rinks, one of which is reserved for children under the age of 11. This is without a doubt, a place where families can enjoy one of the most entertaining forms of winter sport.

PANTICOSA CABLE CAR

Panticosa is a beautiful village located at the head of the Tena Valley, in the middle of the Pyrenees, next to the ski resort of the same name and near its famous Spa. From Panticosa it is easy to get up to beautiful nature spots in the mountains (summits, tarns and mountain meadows) by using the resort’s cable car.

TRADITIONAL NATIVITY SCENES

During the Christmas holidays there are many places in the province where traditional nativity scenes are on show, some of which are considered authentic gems of nativity scene art. In Huesca city, the scene created at the offices of the Diputación Provincial (the County Council) and the one from the Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados (Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly). In the province, Monzón, Peralta de la Sal, Lagunarrota and Boltaña are must-sees. Other interesting nativity scenes are in Alcolea de Cinca, Almunia de San Juan, Binaced, Pomar, Esplús, Graus, Torreciudad, Barbastro, Fraga, Castillonroy, Azanuy and Tamarite de Litera.
